The Kohler Experiential Learning Center bases its learning initiatives on the same principles that have made Kohler Co. a world-renowned organization for more than 130 years. Since 1873, the company's central mission has been to extend a higher level of gracious living to those who are touched by KOHLER products and services. Our team and leadership programs continue this proud tradition.
Continuous learning and development is vital to an organization's continued success. The Kohler Experiential Learning Center is a catalyst for positive change using powerful, customized programs to meet your unique goals and objectives. Our upbeat team experiences enhance leadership and professional development and help create stronger, more cohesive teams. Through collaborative activities, interactive exercises, role-playing and group discussions, facilitators guide participants in practices that result in optimal team experiences. Team members are encouraged to commit principles they learn to the workplace. Our goal is to add value to your organization by using state-of-the-art adult education and facilitation methods for groups of 8 to 400. The Kohler Experiential Learning Center employs a full-time staff of professional facilitators and contracts with The Proudman Group, Inc. to meet our clients' needs.

Team Development Opportunities
All programs can be customized to meet your organization's needs.
Adventures in Trust - This two-day program includes physical activities such as Partner Rescue, Trust Dive and other collaborative activities to develop a sense of trust among team members.
The Challenge Course - A combination of low and high ropes courses enable participants to grow at both the team and individual levels, exploring risk, leadership, communication, problem-solving and coaching.
Team Cuisine® - Programs designed to teach team and management skills through an entertaining experience of preparing recipes and servings with the chefs of Destination Kohler.
TeamJam® - This large group team building experience combines elements of playful fun and serious business analysis. Custom designed for each client, this program is a proven winner for creating high levels of fun and benefit to a business.
Team Vine - Get your 'creative' juices flowing! Test your Team's Marketing skills and learn a little bit about the fine qualities of wine at the same time! You may discover some hidden qualities about your fellow workers in the process. This three-part program includes a wine demonstration, team marketing campaign and final presentation all centered around wine.
Large Group Activities - Team Olympics involves teams competing in creative and fun team events such as designing a bathtub with Tinker Toys and the hula-hoop race. Kite Building Challenges require teams to design a kite, purchase materials and demonstrate the aerodynamics for a judge’s approval of meeting specified criteria.
Team Development Program - Typically this is a 4 part program. The team starts by taking an assessment to better understand similarities and differences in personality styles and interpersonal needs. Next, they go through a Team Development day. The team will discuss purpose, responsibilities, goals, ground rules, etc. with experiential initiatives to be done to support the day’s discussion. Third, the group will take part in a fun, camaraderie building event such as Team Cuisine or Team Cookout. The final session is a customized follow up to assess the groups progression with its new goals and processes that were agreed upon.
Team Orienteering - Teams use a GPS and learn about leadership and team skills. Course can be set up on trails, wooded areas, or in the village of Kohler for an urban experience. The event can be designed with range of difficulty. It is best set up as a timed competitive or collaborative event. This program can also be added to other Kohler Experiential Learning Center programs.
Cookin’ on Fire: A Team Cookout Experience - A project management exercise with teams leading the entire process. Fully inclusive with roles of choosing recipes, buying the food, starting the cooking fires, preparing and cooking the food, creating the dining space (setting tables, center pieces, etc.), facilitating the meal conversation. A fun way to let people interact and create an entire meal experience cooked on open fires and charcoal grills. Highly interactive and fun for everyone.
The Team Art Project - This program uses the creative process with teams making "art" that has metaphoric ties to organizational needs. Customized for each delivery. Art mediums used in the past include mobile building, ceramic tile mosaics and handmade bound books/journals. Group takes home the artwork.
True Gravitee® - Customized golf outings designed for team and leadership development. Outings are partnered with the Kohler Golf Academy. Can incorporate non-golfers.

Team Rhythms - Collaboration with Holy Goat Percussion’s Michael Taylor (Chicago), a professional percussionist. Use of authentic West African drums and percussion instruments. Participants learn basic rhythmic methods and explore leadership/followership roles while creating ever-changing patterns. No experience necessary. Lively, engaging and fun for all. Works best for group sizes over 20 and fewer than 100.
Leadership Development Opportunities
Situational Leadership II - Identifying the needs of employees and tailoring management style to each situation is covered in this two-day course. Sessions include discussions, case studies and assessments.
Emotional Intelligence - This two-day workshop is highly active, requires brainpower and includes interesting experiential activities. Participants learn about emotional intelligence and how it influences team effectiveness.
Leadership Camp - Leadership Camps are staged out of the Kohler Experiential Learning Center’s Pavilion. Various learning experiences available for incorporating into a Camp include low and high level challenge course events, orienteering, hiking, Team Cookouts, indoor team initiatives. Facilitation drives the developmental and progressive learning process. The agenda is built in consultation with a client to assure the business objectives are addressed.
Executive Wellness and Leadership Retreat - Full educational retreats that incorporate the amenities of Destination Kohler. Blend business agenda needs with life coaching approaches to mind/body/spirit wellness. Customized movement classes, golf, team development, spa visits - all options available at the Kohler resort can be built into a customized agenda. We assist with planning meetings that are renewing, re-energizing and rewarding for organizations.
