The Kohler Experiential Learning Center Journey

Our guiding principle is to create a safe and innovative learning environment for team and leadership development, delivering learning experiences that are intellectually, emotionally and physically engaging.

The evolving story of providing powerful learning experiences for a wide array of clients continues. Throughout its 15-year history, the Kohler Experiential Learning Center has delivered world-class learning experiences driven by expert process facilitation. We believe that it is our facilitators who make the difference for our clients. Our core value to our clients continues to be designing innovative learning experiences with transferable and measurable business relevance.

The center began in 1994 as Kohler Team Challenge (KTC) programs. Located along the banks of the Sheboygan River, the original site included an eight-element high-challenge course and eight low elements. The KTC site was designed in compliance with the Association for Challenge Course Technology standards for safety and operation. The site remains the same, yet the Center has continued to grow and sustain a creative approach to its services.

In 2005, the business was moved under Kohler Learning management as a function of Human Resources and was renamed the Kohler Experiential Learning Center. The main meeting facility of the KELC is the Pavilion, built in 1996 and extensively remodeled and upgraded to a full-service meeting space in 2006. The facility seats up to 60 people comfortably, has Internet access, full A/V capabilities, a food preparation area and beautiful bathrooms outfitted with none other than fine KOHLER® fixtures and faucets. The latest addition to the facilities includes state-of-the-art low team challenges, added in 2008.
